The moment hangs in the air
like snowflakes suspended
in an ocean of sunlight
shining diamond bright
A hologram
holding the fulllness of
all our treasured moments
in microcosm
Your arms around me;
tears roll down my face;
"You know me better than that,
Delight," you murmur into my hair,
your cheek on the top of my head
"When have I ever,
ever, violated someone else's
free choice? And how many
times have people been enraged
because their choices had natural consequences?"
'Most of the time, my Love,
these children never think things through.
My heart breaks when they
play with fire and burn themselves.
Will this species ever learn?'
I ask, inhaling your warmth,
your musky scent goes to my head,
the only safety I have ever known
is right here,
in your arms
whether you're bodied or not
though I treasure the moments
you appear in three dimensions -
solid enough to hide in your arms,
to steal a kiss, or
picnic in the sacred forest,
dancing across dimensions and time
random moments
just the two of us
it reminds me of Darillium
